The Celtic people have always honored stories.By the light of the fire they would gather to listen to the tales that had been handed down to them by their ancestors.Even today this oral tradition of storytelling is still popular among the Celts. They do not simply dismiss stories as a mere distraction for children or those who have nothing better to do. Rather, they understand that stories are the way that we can become more human, more compassionate, and more at peace with our place in this world. They know too that stories can often teach us more about the truth than historical facts and figures. They are quite comfortable with the notion that that which can be seen on this earth is often less real than that which cannot be seen. At the top of my website you will see a Celtic knot and within each section there are pictures of a cottage, a monk, a fairy, and a harp - all objects that feature prominently in the Celtic stories. Let's begin with the Celtic knot itself...
